Designed to suit most backyards, our Suburban Series of granny flats incorporate appropriate design features and construction details to make them compatible with suburban homes.
All of our designs can be fully customised to suit your needs and budget, Council requirements, site constraints, and so on. Studio / 1-bedroom / 2-bedroom options are available to suit the various Council / State Government size restrictions
The 5 most common changes made by our clients to the Suburban Series of designs include:
- Size (we can adjust the plan to suit your needs or to meet your Council’s requirements)
- Shape and orientation (can be altered to suit your site and the prevailing views)
- Roof design and material selection (eg. hip / gable / skillion design, Colorbond or tiled roofing to match or complement the existing home)
- External wall cladding (we encourage the use of “mixed” wall cladding to make the home look more inviting and eliminate the potential “boxy” appearance that characterises many granny flats… a careful selection of cladding can help match or complement the existing home)
- Window and door size / shape / position (good quality natural light and cross-ventilation are essential for a healthy home)
